Something That Only She Knows
Never see an item out of place
In the fortress that she’s made
Crystal in the cabinet face one way
Floors are polished each and every day
Sometimes you’re afraid to sit down
Might disturb perfection all around
You wonder how she stays composed
It’s something that only she knows
But she keeps her world tidy
And organizes her things
Puts away her memories
Just like she does her dreams
And while she’s deciding
It’s as sad as it seems
Cuz she wants so bad to go
It’s something that only she knows
She thinks about escape someday
But mostly puts those thoughts away
A servant playing her part
Brewing coffee along with her heart
They see the smile on her face
She’s sure to remain in her place
You wonder what keeps her enclosed
It’s something that only she knows
But she keeps her world tidy
And organizes her things
Puts away her memories
Just like she does her dreams
And while she’s deciding
It’s as sad as it seems
Cuz she wants so bad to go
It’s something that only she knows
Someday the light will shine down
She’s finally come around
Remember who she’s always been
Learn to be her own best friend
Find the life that’s waiting for her
Her world’s gonna change in a blur
You wonder how she finally chose
It’s something that only she knows
Ooh, she kept her world tidy
And she organized her things
Now she’s making new memories
And resurrecting her dreams
Since she’s decided
It’s as sad as it seems
Cuz they finally had to let go
