Dogs Are Angels

Sometimes dogs know too much

And not by cruel touch

but how I share my fears

blended with salty tears

When I touch their fur at night

it keeps my ghosts alight

They seem to hear my soul

Whether unheard or I’ve spoke

No judgement in their eyes

They seem to wonder why

But then they wag their tail

I finally can exhale

And then it’s not so bad

Though I’d been really sad

Dogs are angels

Yes dogs are angels

I know mine are
