Stand in the Light

I thought I saw her face today

But she already slipped away

We all wanted someone to pay

He started hiding long ago

Sent his light into the shadow

Our sympathy seems so hollow

We all felt left behind

When his world began to unwind

How could we have been so blind

And then we all stood around and said

It was a very good life they led

But was it something we did or said

I can never know

The pain they never showed

I just miss my friends

I want to make amends

Heaven: draw them in!

Let their lives begin.

Let them stand now unafraid

In light and peace that never fades,

And let me meet them where angels surround,

Where all my loved ones one day are found.
