Get Up

Get Up

What I need

is a massive distraction

Something to remove

my dissatisfaction

With life in general

if just by a fraction

I’ve given enough sympathy

Sat in enough self-pity

It ain’t no trick to me

Gotta find

the great escape

Not gonna sit and wait

For a better life when late

Late is when it’s gonna be

If I don’t open my eyes to see

The greater good around me

Okay, sometimes I stare at the sky

Ok to wonder ok to ask why

But sometimes the questions got to fly

Gotta move on or I’m losing traction

Sitting in paralysis and inaction

Ain’t gonna make the positive happen

Life is no great mystery

No point in living if you can’t be free

So I’m discarding chains that bind me

Gonna give love out every way

Deflect the bad - embrace each day

Find the eye of the storm – keep the negative at bay
