I Don’t Care If You Bought That Ring

I don’t care if you bought that ring

I don’t care. It don’t mean a thing.

You think you earned yourself a free ride

There’s crazy crawlin’ your insides

Ride it high on your platform Joe

Tell everyone that you know

How I wrecked your heart and wrecked your bed

Left you with nothing but what wasn’t said

And I’m not coming back

The train’s done jumped the track

This damn thing failed

This ship has sailed

And I’ve already packed

I don’t care if you bought that ring

I don’t care. It don’t mean a thing

We said “forever” but it was just me

That meant those words - wasn’t hypocrisy

Go on down the road - I’ve had just enough

Sell someone else on your bullshit stuff

It don’t matter now – the stories that you tell

They’re about to take you on a trip through hell

And won’t let you back

I’m done giving slack

Your words are lies

Nothing but alibis

And I don’t owe you jack

I don’t care if you bought that ring

But don’t think you can take it from me

You didn’t buy me with your gold and charm

All you ever did was cause me harm

I’m don’t want more of your fake affection

Time to make a course correction

I should’ve gone a long time ago

But the light is on and now I know

That I’m not coming back

The train’s done jumped the track

This damn thing failed

This ship has sailed

And I’ve already packed
